Convert GLB to STL, OBJ, USDZ or PLY
Pick a GLB or glTF file, choose a format and download the result. The conversion runs on your own device, so the file never leaves your browser.
WaterBottle.glb (195 KB)
Or drop it anywhere on this panel. The sample bottle is loaded to start.
What each conversion keeps
Formats store different things, so converting can drop information. Pick the target by where the file is going:
| Convert to | Keeps | Drops |
|---|---|---|
| STL | Shape | Colour, textures, UVs, units |
| OBJ | Shape, normals, UVs | Textures and materials (this tool writes no MTL file) |
| USDZ | Shape, PBR materials, textures | Some glTF extensions, such as sheen and transmission |
| PLY | Shape | Textures and materials |
| GLB | Everything three.js understands | Unsupported or custom extensions |
The export formats guide explains where each format is used.
GLB to STL for 3D printing
glTF files measure everything in metres, while slicers such as Cura, PrusaSlicer and Bambu Studio treat STL numbers as millimetres. A 10 cm model exported without scaling shows up as 0.1 mm. The converter multiplies by 1,000 by default to prevent that.
STL stores only the surface, so check that the model is watertight before printing. Generated and scanned models often are not; running them through remesh closes holes and removes hidden faces. More in the 3D printing workflow.
Privacy
The file is read with your browser’s File API and converted by three.js exporters on your device. Nothing is uploaded to threeD, and closing the tab clears it.
