Convert GLB to STL, OBJ, USDZ or PLY

Pick a GLB or glTF file, choose a format and download the result. The conversion runs on your own device, so the file never leaves your browser.

What each conversion keeps

Formats store different things, so converting can drop information. Pick the target by where the file is going:

GLB to STL for 3D printing

glTF files measure everything in metres, while slicers such as Cura, PrusaSlicer and Bambu Studio treat STL numbers as millimetres. A 10 cm model exported without scaling shows up as 0.1 mm. The converter multiplies by 1,000 by default to prevent that.

STL stores only the surface, so check that the model is watertight before printing. Generated and scanned models often are not; running them through remesh closes holes and removes hidden faces. More in the 3D printing workflow.

The file is read with your browser’s File API and converted by three.js exporters on your device. Nothing is uploaded to threeD, and closing the tab clears it.

Questions people ask

Is the converter free?
Yes, with no account and no limits, because the work happens in your browser.
Can I convert FBX or OBJ to GLB?
Not here: this tool reads GLB and glTF. The studio imports FBX and OBJ and exports GLB.
Why does my OBJ have no colours?
OBJ keeps colours in a separate MTL file with texture images. This converter writes geometry and UVs only. Use GLB or USDZ to keep materials in one file.
Will the USDZ open on an iPhone?
The export uses Apple’s Quick Look compatible settings. Very large textures are reduced to 2,048 px. Advanced glTF materials like velvet sheen may look simpler in AR.
How big a file can I convert?
It depends on your device’s memory. Files up to a few hundred megabytes usually work on a desktop computer; phones have less headroom.
